Project description
Carlie and Doni are a musical comedy duo. They have a monthly show at the Improv called Your Mom Says Hi! When Carlie and Doni asked me to design their logo, I actually hooked up a projector. I traced their silhouettes on the wall and turned them into comical vectors. The musical treble clef reads as an ampersand too between Carlie & Doni. Since they write their own music the treble clef made sense.
I also illustrated their first flash website. They wrote a hilarious song called, Bikini Wax. The wax strip gets pulled off as the website loads. I illustrated the website with a fun 80s rock and roll theme. I drew small icons on the bottom right of the video page to reflect their song lyrics. The camel represents their song, Camel Toe. The cross goes with their song Adam & Steve. The prince's crown is for their song, Prince Man Boobs. Videos from their shows and music videos played on the videos page. Because they are comedians I was very playful with the website menu, making the buttons illustrations themselves at a diagonal.
